At Vimeo, we have recently focused our apps strategy to solving problems for creators, but it’s still a place where millions of people watch videos. This includes the majority of our subscribed creators.
After reflecting on research and feedback, it was clear that inspiration from watching content is desired by our important user segments. Additionally, the top feature requests and negative feedback revolved around our outdated player and it's (lack of) capabilities. This project gave us an opportunity to modernize our player and provide a better content discovery and watching experience.
